Antenatal & Postnatal

Exercise to music

Antenatal

Why exercise during your pregnancy?

  • Benefits appear to be both physical & psychological in nature.
  • Many common complaints of pregnancy Inc tiredness, leg cramps, varicose veins, swelling are reduced in women who exercise.
  • Active women experience less insomnia, stress, anxiety & depression.
  • Improves stamina and ability to cope with labour. There is some evidence that weight-bearing exercise throughout pregnancy can reduce the length of labour and decrease delivery complications.
  • Improves posture, balance and strength, helping to reduce or prevent backache and pelvic pain.
  • Can help in controlling weight gain during pregnancy and regaining figure postnatally.
